The Chicago Neurodiverse Social Club (CNSC) is a program of CAYR Connections for neurodivergent adults. Our mission is to cultivate an inclusive, supportive community of neurodivergent adults in the Chicago area. Audrey Koziol founded CNSC in March of 2023 and now volunteers as the chair of the steering committee, which includes 11 CNSC members who volunteer their time and energy to keep the group running smoothly.

Who can join?
This group is open to any adult (18+) in the Chicago area who identifies as neurodivergent, which includes people who are officially diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or are still in the "wondering" phase.
Where do CNSC events take place?
Locations vary, and we try to choose locations that are easily accessible by public transportation. Most of our events are held in Logan Square, Bridgeport, and Oak Park, but we hope to offer events across the Chicago area based on the group members' preferences.
How do I RSVP for events?
All CNSC events are posted on the Meetup group. For the security of our members, it is a private group, so you need to have a Meetup account and join the group before you can see the specific details of each event. Click the "see events" button at the top of this page to access the Meetup group.
What "counts" as neurodivergent?
Neurodivergent includes anyone whose brain differs from what is considered the "norm," including Autistic folks, ADHDers, people with Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities, Tourette's, Sensory Processing Disorder, or anyone with other developmental, mental health, or cognitive conditions. What’s important is that you consider yourself to fall under the "neurodivergent" umbrella and are seeking connection with people who share this lived experience.
Does it cost money to join?
No! Thanks to generous donations from the community, CAYR Connections is able to sponsor the CNSC's operational costs. There are no membership fees and most of the events are free.
Some events take place at venues where you will pay for what you order, but others have refreshments provided. Check the event description for more specific information about what to expect for each event.
What types of events do you organize?
CNSC events include:
-
support group meetings
-
game nights
-
hobby/craft nights
-
nights out on the town
-
walk & talk outdoor events
-
coffee chats
-
and more!
Let us know if you have an event in mind that you'd like to see!
