About the event
Come for the picnic, stay for the community—and connect with other families who understand and celebrate neurodiversity!
Join us for a series of CAYR Family Picnics—relaxed, welcoming gatherings for families with neurodivergent children of all ages. Each picnic will be held at a community park with a playground, accessible bathrooms, and a reserved picnic shelter for shade and comfort. These events are all about community, connection, and letting kids (and adults!) be themselves. We believe that all play is okay—including stimming, sensory play, imaginative games, independent play, parallel play, or just hanging out. There’s no pressure to interact in any particular way—just come as you are. We will have activities like chalk, bubbles, and (reusable) water balloons!
Volunteers from CAYR Connections will be present to help create a safe and inclusive atmosphere, but a parent or guardian must remain on site during the event.
We’ll provide light refreshments—think water, juice boxes,…
